Meet Kara McClanahan, a powerhouse in the aesthetics industry with over 28 years of experience. She's not just a leader – she's a mentor, a visionary, and a force for change.

Kara's professional aesthetics journey started by becoming an esthetician herself, then grew into aesthetic practice management and further as an executive on the industry side in device and product sales. She went on to found Aesthetic Practice Partners in 2013, taking her expertise to the next level in strategically mentoring medical aesthetic practices with her highly regarded consulting support.

Kara's impact goes far beyond the practice. She's a Board-Certified Medical Practice Executive, a certified Wellness and Professional Coach, and the driving force behind Empower Esthetics, a nonprofit dedicated to mentoring women, providing education and resources to empower their lives through careers in aesthetics. As a sought-after speaker and consultant, Kara is shaping the future of aesthetics, one business at a time.

Erin Courtway is a Family Nurse Practitioner, injector and owner of PRISM Aesthetics, located in Northwest Arkansas. She worked as an RN for seven years before, with a background in ER, ICU, medical surgery, and pharmaceuticals. Erin then finally found her way into aesthetics in the year of 2018. She finished out her RN career as a COVID-19 travel nurse in New York City for almost two months when the pandemic started—which she says changed her perspective on everything in life - for good!

Erin has a deep passion for aesthetics and prides herself in being a voice in the women’s empowerment movement.

Her vision is that PRISM Aesthetics will be a welcoming, diverse, & non-judgmental place where each and every client walks out feeling more confident and beautiful!

Wendi started her undergraduate career at Drexel University in Philadelphia. She ended up choosing the field of medicine after graduating and went on to get degrees in respiratory therapy and in nursing. She worked for years in pediatric critical care (NICU, PICU and pediatric CICU). She received her Master’s (MSN) as a Family Nurse Practitioner, and later her Doctor of Nursing Practice. She has been published in the Journal of Aesthetic and Plastic Nursing (2023). Both her master’s Thesis and Doctoral Project are published and available through ProQuest and open access.

In 2012, she moved from critical care to medical aesthetics. Her background in design made the transition to facial aesthetics very intuitive. The opportunity to work with a very large number of patients in a small amount of time fine-tuned her skill at natural-looking filler placement. Her excellent results drew the attention of a national aesthetics company who positioned her to become a physician trainer. In that role, and as an independent trainer, Wendi has trained over 1200 providers nationally, primarily in dermatology and plastic surgery offices.

Wendi currently treats patients at SkinOvation Advanced Aesthetics in Asheville, NC. This also serves as a clinical site for BSN and MSN students at South College. When Wendi isn’t treating patients, she is training the aesthetic superstars of the future.
